Step #1. Navigate to your browser and type VirtualBox.org then download the newer version of VirtualBox Extension Pack.
Step #2. Now open VirtualBox and click on Preferences, while the preferences window opened then click on Extensions. And now click on Add button for adding VirtualBox Extension Pack.

Change the VM operating System Version, and Enable the USB 3.0 Controller
While you successfully installed the VirtualBox Extension Pack. Therefore, again you are facing the same issue on macOS Catalina because you need to do some more setting for macOS Catalina on VirtualBox. Firstly for performing more setting open VirtualBox and select the created macOS Catalina Virtual machine, then click on “Setting”. After all, select General for left-handed tab in the Basic menu choose the recommend Version. Now select USB from tab and Enable USB Controller then select the third option USB 3.0 (xHCI) Controller.
Note: Most of the macOS Catalina operating users which they are installing on VirtualBox. They are adding extra USB after that, their problem is solving by adding new USB. But which I have installed there is no need of adding new USB just by Enabling the USB 3.0 Controller the issue is solved.
