Before going to start the installation guide of VirtualBox Extension Pack on VirtualBox. There is some hint about the installation guideline that you should know that.
- Install VirtualBox Extension Pack
- Change the Virtual Machine operating system Version
- Enable the USB 3.0 Controller
Install VirtualBox Extension Pack
Step #1. Navigate to your browser and type VirtualBox.org then download the newer version of VirtualBox Extension Pack.
Step #2. Now open VirtualBox and click on Preferences, while the preferences window opened then click on Extensions. And now click on Add button for adding VirtualBox Extension Pack.
Step #3. When you clicked on Add button now go to the download folder and choose Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack which you have downloaded, then click on Open button.
Step #4. After that, you click on Open automatically the installation window will open click on Install.
Step #5. Scroll down and read about the Extension Pack rules and Agree.
Step #6. Wait for the installation of VirtualBox Extension Pack to complete.
Change the VM operating System Version, and Enable the USB 3.0 Controller
While you successfully installed the VirtualBox Extension Pack. Therefore, again you are facing the same issue on macOS Catalina because you need to do some more setting for macOS Catalina on VirtualBox. Firstly for performing more setting open VirtualBox and select the created macOS Catalina Virtual machine, then click on “Setting”. After all, select General for left-handed tab in the Basic menu choose the recommend Version. Now select USB from tab and Enable USB Controller then select the third option USB 3.0 (xHCI) Controller.
