Download and Install App Locker
To download App Locker you need to have Apple ID. After that, navigate to App Store, sign in with your Apple ID.

Type App Locker on the search bar and press enter, once App Locker appeared click Get.

When you get the App Locker from the menu bar and launched it. In the first step, you will face a pop-up to set a password. Therefore, click “Setup my password”.

In the preferences, screen type your password create a strong password. In case, if you have a MacBook with Touch ID, then check the box of that. Also, you can enable the Bluetooth ID, when all is done click Save password.

Once the password created click on the top bar on the App Locker icon. And type the password which you have created in the previous step then press enter.

At the first App Locker screen, also App Locker will start up when you boot your Mac computer. Enable Activate App Locker, Enable Start at Login (Recommended). Click on (+) button to add any App in App Locker.

To remove the app from the App Locker list, simply click the Cancel option.

Password-protect Folder
Disk Utility is the best option on Mac that most of the works are performing via Disk Utility. Here I will use to protect a Folder on Mac with it. The process is simple, navigate to the search spotlight on the right-handed corner and click on that. When the search spotlight appeared type Disk Utility and press enter.

When the Disk Utility opened minimize that. Click on the top menu bar on File>New Image> then select Image from Folder.
Once this opened select the folder which you want to protect it with the password when selected click Choose.

Now give the folder name which you will save. Click on the “Encryption” option then choose the “128-bit AES Encryption (Recommended) option.

Click down on the “Image Format” option, then select “Read/Write”.

Wait a while until it should create the folder disk image. Once the disk image created click Done.

When the folder image created check out that on your desktop. Also, you can choose several image format, the format I have created is a dmg file. That’s it double-click on the file, after that, you will be required to enter your password.
